In brief
The type has its own rules for arithmetic and data exchange.
Useful to know
BigInt presents integers of arbitrary magnitude within the resources of the environment. Literal has suffix n: 9007199254740993n is BigInt, and not Number. Do not mix directly with Number in plain arithmetic . [1]
In 5n / 2n, the result is 2n, because the fractional part is cut off. This distinguishes it from a random decimal sum model. For large identifiers, check the exchange format as well: the standard JSON.stringify does not serialize BigInt directly. Contracts text representation if the value has to go through JSON.
