Resistor blocks for internal fans allow different speeds in the respective performances. HELLA presents them separately from electronic regulators, so the two names should not be automatically exchanged. [1]

When searching for a part, find out what scheme the car has. Visually similar housings may be designed for different controls. If only some grades work, record which ones exactly without bypassing sample security features. The symptom is useful for diagnosis, but does not in itself prove which component is the cause.
