git fsck checks the validity and connectivity of Git objects. It helps investigate possible repository-data problems. [1]

It does not establish that a website works or its database is current. Faulty code can be stored in a perfectly valid Git repository. Distinguish the integrity of recorded history from program behaviour, which needs other checks.
