Git log: narrowing history to a file

Useful to know

git log shows reachable commit history. A path narrows inspection to a particular area, for example git log -- app/Models/Entry.php. [1]

The -- separator distinguishes a path from a revision name. After locating a relevant commit, inspect its diff too. A commit title explains the author’s intention but does not replace checking what actually changed.
