In brief
In gasoline direct injection, it takes into account the pressure in the fuel rack.
Useful to know
Bosch describes a sensor that measures the pressure in the high-pressure fuel rack of a direct-injection gasoline engine. The control unit uses this information to accurately dose the fuel. Individual variants have other uses, including CNG. [1]
The sensor does not create the pressure - it reports the value. Pump, regulators and management are other participants in the process. This helps to understand why a deviation in the reported pressure does not necessarily mean damage to the sensor exactly.
When comparing data, specify whether you see a desired or measured value and under what operating mode. Do not carry a number from another engine as a common standard. High-pressure systems require specialized procedures; this text gives orientation for the function, not instruction for loosening ties or home test.
