In brief
Allowing to start depends on coded verification.
Useful to know
The electronic immobiliser described by Bosch relies on a transponder in the key. After reading its code and checking, the system allowed the engine electronics to start. [1]
This is different from an alarm, which only gives a sound in case of unwanted access. A physically appropriate key is not sufficient if the electronic identification is not accepted. In case of a start-up problem, check the indications and follow the manufacturer's procedure instead of immediately blaming the starter. A description of the principle does not mean that the system is insurmountable or that all generations use the same keys and protocols.
