Lzma: compression and container format are separate choices

lzma supports .xz, the older .lzma format and raw compressed streams. These representations are not interchangeable without the appropriate settings. [1]

Specify the recipient’s expected format. For large inputs, consider streaming interfaces and memory limits. Sharing an LZMAFile across threads requires synchronization; a file-like interface does not automatically promise safe concurrent access.
