In brief
Public and private buildings show the importance of the Hanseatic center.
Useful to know
Torun developed from a fortified center of the Teutonic Order into a Hanseatic trading town. Public and private buildings from the XIV-XV century are preserved in the Old and New Town. [1]
The word "new" here does not mean a modern neighborhood. On a map, compare the two cores and their relationship to the fortifications. Then look at how residential architecture is involved in the historical image alongside public buildings. The commercial significance is better understood through the entire urban structure than through a single separate famous house.
